DBs is screening on May 9th in the showcase 300-seater in Bradford – UESCO’s city of film. Director Garry Sykes will field a Q&A at the end of the show and then he and 2 of the actresses will be holding workshops for film and drama students. We’re delighted to be invited there, hot on the heels of our very succesful showing at the London Independent Film Festival – where the audience laughed in all the right places and applauded the film for its inteligent and sensitive protrayal of 6 late teenage Newcastle girls on the cusp of the adult world. Usually this age group gets pretty rough treatment in the media – DBs gives them a voice and takes them serioiusly. It’s an approach that’s long overdue and is attracting a lot of attention.
