We have started production on a 90-minute feature film, set in Newcastle. Traditional gang movies focus on male characters and cast the girls as eye-candy. This is different – it’s about the young women and it’s assertive and female. It will bring out the authentic voice of teenage girls’ experience in a macho world.
It will also be hugely entertaining, a Millennial movie for a generation too often talked down to by those who think they know better. This is an age-group where dreams have replaced ambitions, with fame as the goal. We will tap into all of this, producing a bright, fresh and powerful film that demands to be watched and listened to by cross-generational audiences and, most significantly, by teens themselves.
