Maryam Heidaripour, a design student from Iran, demonstrates a hijab that glows in the dark, designed to prevent road traffic accidents. Each year in Iran, 25,000 people are killed in roadside accidents and more than half of the deaths are pedestrians. Many of the victims are women, dressed from head to toe in dark clothing. The reflective patterns are inspired by traditional Islamic calligraphy.
