Doctors in the UK are tailoring cancer treatments for individuals using DNA samples of blood and tumours. Cancer Research UK, working alongside pharmaceutical companies and the UK government, has set up a pilot scheme with up to 9,000 patients. The aim of the research is to provide the most effective treatment for individual patients and also to help design more effective cancer treatments for everyone in the future.
